Yowie Bay Public School offers an enriching and diverse range of opportunities for its students, ensuring that each child’s interests, talents, and skills are nurtured. One of the standout features of the school is its comprehensive music and performance programs. Students can participate in both Junior and Senior Ensembles, where they can develop their musical abilities and perform in a group setting. The school also offers a variety of dance opportunities, including Boys' and Girls' Junior and Senior Hip Hop, as well as Jazz classes for students in Year 1 to 6. These programs foster creativity, teamwork, and self-expression, providing students with the chance to shine on stage and develop a love for the arts.
In addition to the performing arts, Yowie Bay Public School provides an outstanding music program, including the Junior and Senior Choir, where students can develop their vocal skills and perform in school and community events. The school also offers ukulele lessons, allowing students to explore a fun and engaging musical instrument. For students interested in competitive chess, the school partners with the Sydney Academy of Chess, offering specialized training to enhance strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. These musical and intellectual activities are designed to help students broaden their horizons and build confidence in their abilities.
The school’s commitment to a well-rounded education extends to its language offerings. Yowie Bay Public School provides students with the opportunity to learn both French and Spanish before school, fostering linguistic skills and cultural awareness. These language programs allow students to explore different cultures and broaden their global perspective. Language acquisition is an essential part of the school’s curriculum, enabling students to communicate across cultures and preparing them for an increasingly interconnected world.
Beyond academics and the arts, Yowie Bay Public School encourages student leadership and involvement in the school community. The Student Representative Council (SRC) provides students with the opportunity to take on leadership roles, contributing to decision-making processes and promoting a positive school culture. Additionally, the school offers DanceSport, a program that combines the joy of dance with the benefits of physical fitness and coordination. With its wide array of extracurricular activities, Yowie Bay Public School truly offers a rich, dynamic, and supportive environment where students can explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lasting connections within the school and the broader community.
Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
Canteen
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
Uniforms
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
