There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
Gymnastics
Year 2 had a lot of fun at their first gymnastics lesson yesterday.
Year 6 Production
We were excited to start Production today.

Annual Easter Hat parade.
It was great to see all the amazing hats, performances and thank you to our families for joining us.
Gotcha Rewards
Kindergarten enjoyed their first Gotcha reward. They felt like they were at the movies watching Peter Rabbit
Our Year 1 students had the best time celebrating their Gotcha reward day!
Easter Hat Making
Today our older students helped the youngest students in our school create and decorate their Easter hats, in preparation for Thursday’s parade. It is always so lovely to see the patience and warmth our students show when helping one another.
Kindy Fairy Bread Day
Today was Fairy Bread Friday in Kindy. They used what they have learnt about halves this week to cut their fairy bread. After they cut their fairy bread they got to eat it!
Neurodiversity & Harmony Week Colouring Competition
Today we announced the winners of our Neurodiversity and Harmony Week colouring in competition. Well done to everybody who entered the competition! We also held a classroom door decorating competition, with our SRC being the judges. Congratulations to 1F and 6W!!!
Show and Share
This afternoon we hosted our first Show and Share event for the year. It was lovely to open our doors and welcome our school community into our classrooms, to see all of the fabulous learning that has taken place this year!
Cross Country Carnival
Our Cross Country Carnival at Miranda Park was a great success. The sun was shining, the sky was a beautiful blue, and our runners were ready to challenge themselves! Congratulations to all of the students who participated today!
Harmony Day
Thank you everyone for coming dressed in a touch of orange today to celebrate Harmony Week! Diversity is the one true thing we all have in common and here at Yowie Bay we acknowledge and value one another’s cultural backgrounds!
Cronulla Sharks One Heart Talk
Today Year 4 were very lucky to have some Cronulla Sharks players come to our school and talk about diversity and inclusion to connect with our Harmony Week activities.

Swimming Carnival
What a fantastic day for a swimming carnival! Well done to everyone who swam in races, had fun at the novelty events and cheered on their friends! Thank you to the Port Hacking High School students who helped out today and provided the cheer squad!
Justum Tene Challenge
We are so proud of everyone who completed their first Justum Tene Challenge for the year! You are now on your journey of growth, resilience, and achieving your personal best. Go Yowie Bay!!
Chess Club
Students proudly represented Yowie Bay PS at the primary schools division interschools chess competition. After many hard fought battles, we were able to place 3rd overall, qualifying us for the semi finals in Term 3.
Well done!
Easter Show
Our amazing pumpkins will be featured in the Flower and Garden Show pavilion.
ANZAC Day
Our students proudly represented Yowie Bay Public School at the Miranda RSL ANZAC Day Dawn Service, showing great respect and maturity as they commemorated those who have served our country. Eloise also had the honour of marching with the band, playing at the services in Miranda, Kogarah and Riverwood.
SRC Fundraising
The SRC have put the funds raised from the snow cones towards a brand new portable speaker! We can’t wait to use it at special events at school
Cronulla Zone Cross Country Carnival
Well done to our students who represented YBPS yesterday ay the Cronulla one Cross Country Carnival. It was a great day out at Kurnell.
Little Yowies' Library Drop in Session
Today was so much fun with our Little Yowies!
Leadership By The Bay 2026 Launch Day
at Woolooware High School. We are proud of how they represented YBPS and worked together to plan a cultural change project that will benefit our school
Year 6 Debating Team
A successful day for our Year 6 debating team, winning our first debate against Laguna Street PS. The topic was ‘The school week should be 4 days’ and we were the negative team. Well done!
Walk Safely to School Day
What a lovely morning with our Yowie Bay community. Great to see so many families out to Walk Safely. To School.
Excursion - Auburn Botanical Gardens
Stage 1 students enjoyed a beautiful excursion to the Auburn Botanical Gardens as part of our study of the HSIE History Unit 'Ancient Past' Students explored the stunning gardens, observed a variety of plants and wildlife, and participated enthusiastically in learning experiences connected different cultures.
Futsal School Championships
Today we had three teams participate in the Futsal School Championships. Our boys and girls teams represented our school with pride, playing with skill, enthusiasm and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.
Thank you to the parents who assisted with the teams throughout the day, and those who supported our teams and cheered along.
A special mention to the Junior Boys team, who won the whole competition, and our Senior Boys team, who were the runner ups. They both move onto the State Futsal Championships next term.
Athletics Carnival
What a fantastic day for an athletics carnival!! Well done to everyone who braved the rainy conditions to compete in our track and field events. Despite the weather, we still managed to have some records broken! Thank you to the wonderful Port Hacking High School students for your support, and assisting and cheering on our students
Premiers Debating Challenge
Another win for Yowie Bay! A very competitive debate against Caringbah PS on the topic ‘primary schools should never use any screens in class’. Well done team
National Simultaneous Storytime
Our students had a fantastic time participating in National Simultaneous Storytime this week! Gathering together to enjoy the same story at a similar time across the nation is such a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of reading
Justum Tene Challenge We have been so impressed with the amazing Justum Tene reflection journals being brought in this week! It has been wonderful to see so many students thoughtfully reflecting on their goals, challenges and achievements.
A huge well done to everyone who is committing to self-improvement and personal growth. The effort, honesty and determination being shown is something to be very proud of. Keep challenging yourselves to be the best version of you- we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
Soccer Training with Sutherland Sharks Coach
We had an incredible training session with Sutherland Sharks Soccer Club coach Paul Reid and his daughter, Avery Reid, a former YB student.
The girls were challenged, encouraged, and coached through a range of drills and game scenarios, leaving with valuable new skills and strategies to take onto the field. Most importantly, they gained confidence in their abilities and as a team.
A huge thank you to Paul and Avery for sharing their time, knowledge, and passion for the game. We would also like to extend our thanks to Sutherland Sharks FC for supporting this opportunity.
The girls are excited to put what they learned into action during our upcoming PSSA matches!
